I am honored to join CQC Home as a bookkeeper. Working with numbers and files can make the fruits of one’s labor feel abstract sometimes. What I love about this field is seeing the numbers I crunch turn into a tangible improvement in someone’s life!

I was born & raised in St. Louis, Missouri, and while I will always love my home city, I knew from a young age I wanted to live and travel elsewhere, probably thanks to my Mom’s dedication to showing my sister and me as much of the country as possible on weeks-long road trips during our teen years.

While staying near home through college, I traveled as much as I could afford, and eventually followed my now-wife to Houston, TX when she moved for work. After six years there, it was time to live somewhere that truly captured our hearts.

I spent the summer of 2017 in the Triangle for an internship with Paperhand Puppet Intervention. I fell in love with the natural beauty and welcoming communities I found here, and I knew I had to find a way back after the internship was over. There were some hurdles in our way, but finally, in April of 2020, when most people weren’t even leaving their homes, my wife and I moved ours!

We took a flying leap to move to Durham, and shortly thereafter I was thrilled to join the team at CQC Home. The warm welcome and amount I am learning in this role has only solidified my belief that this is the best place to call home.

While my profession is all about numbers and strict organization, I balance that with my personal passions for all things artistic & messy. I continue to craft and puppeteer with Paperhand, as well as filling my free time with painting, gardening, hiking, and maybe someday I’ll actually get this fantasy novel finished…
